TEX SMITH'S HOT ROD LIBRARY publishes the most comprehensive "How to Books" for hands on hot rod and custom car builders. Our books are BIG building manuals for people who want the latest tips, techniques, and technology in the hot rodding world.

Our authors are not only some of the top experts in rod building but some of the most recognized names in automotive literature: Tex Smith, Ron Ceridono, Tom Medley, Jim Clark, Don Radbruch, Skip Readio, and Wayne D. Guinn to name a few.

These men have taken their vast array and variety of expertise and put them into easy to follow instructional manuals that take the guesswork out of hot rod and custom car building. Every book is jam packed with working pictures and photos, schematics, and drawings that spell out the answers to the most often asked questions through the most detailed and obscure challenges that face today's hot rod enthusiasts.

ABOUT THE COVELL DVD CREATOR: Ron Covell is considered one of the best-known metalworking professionals in his field. After high school he enrolled in a collision repair program at San Jose City College, and built an aluminum body for a '23 T roadster as a class project, which he still owns.

During his college years, Ron worked for San Jose racecar body builder Arnie Roberts. After graduating, he started his own business building bodies for the chassis built by the legendary dragster builder, Kent Fuller. Ron received a Master's degree in Sculpture from San Jose State University in 1976.

Since then, Ron has spent much of his career working on street rods and custom motorcycles. Convinced that other people had an interest in learning the skills he had spent a lifetime developing, Ron held his first metalworking workshop 1993. The first workshop was success. Ron also created a full line of metalworking tools and machines. Floor and benchtop models make these metalworking tools practical for the beginning and do-it-your-self rod builder. His popular column, "Professor Hammer's Metalworking Tips" has run in Street Rodder Magazine since 1995, and in 2000 a second "Professor Hammer" series, focusing on issues unique to older trucks, was launched in Classic Trucks Magazine. Ron has written technical articles for several magazines. These DVDs share much of that extensive expertise..
